John Gagnon, 74, lifelong resident of Two Rivers, died late Saturday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient since Wednesday. The family home is at 1113 17th St.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. C.V. Hugo will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mr. Gagnon was born June 7, 1879, in Two Rivers, and on Feb. 6, 1906, married the former Elmira Allie. He served two terms as alderman and two terms as a member of the Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Gagnon served in the Coast Guard for 11 years and for years operated an insurance brokerage.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Erdman of Green Bay; two sons, Alred (sic) of Milwaukee and Joseph of Two Rivers; eight sisters, Mrs. Agnes Rau and Mrs. Emma Rehrauer of Two Rivers, Mrs. Anna Rau and Mrs. Rudolph Stockinger of Manitowoc, Miss Clara and Miss Delia of California and Mrs. Rose Cormick of Philips, Wis. (sic—only 7 listed); eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
