Joseph P. Gagnon, age 85, of Two Rivers, died Monday evening, Dec. 8, 2003 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, St. Luke Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O’Brien with burial at Holy Cross
Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Two Rivers American Legion and the VFW posts.

Joe was born April 16, 1918, in Two Rivers, son of the late John S. and Elmyra Allie Gagnon. He was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1936. Joe served in Ordnance Division of the U.S. Army from January 1942 to December 1945. On May 10, 1947, he married the former Rose M. Marek at St. Luke Church, Two Rivers. Joe was employed at Kelvinator Commercial Products, Manitowoc, for 33 years, retiring in 1982. He served on the Two Rivers City Council from 1967 to 1978 and was a county board supervisor from 1978 to 1992. Joe was a member of the International Association of Machinists #2064, American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers, the Catholic Knights Branch #15 and the Two Rivers Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife: Rose Gagnon, Two Rivers; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Patrick J. Gagnon, Two Rivers; John P. and Cyndi Gagnon, Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter and son-in-law: Mary Gagnon and Gary Olson, Duluth, Minn.; seven granddaughters: Cassandra Gagnon and her fiance, Lee Kronforst, Leah Gagnon, Janine Gagnon, Katy Gagnon, Maria Gagnon, Kayla and Amber Olson; five sisters-in-law: Helen Hoffman, Two Rivers; Horty Dufek, Shakopee, Minn.; Lauraine Jungles, Gladstone, Minn.; Germaine Marek, Menasha: and Marge Marek, Manitowoc. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one brother: Aelred; and one sister: Beatrice Erdmann.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, St. Luke Site, on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 until the time of Mass at 11a.m.
The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is assisting the Gagnon family with funeral arrangements.

The family is grateful for the care Joe received at Hamilton Memorial Home, Aurora Medical Center and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center during his recent illness.
