Barton Hepburn (February 28, 1906 – October 9, 1955)
was an American actor who specialized in drama and comedy. Hepburn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was spotted as a stage actor in Los Angeles by the screen director Cecil B. DeMille. He starred in a 1929 production, Painted Faces, an early film with sound. This was not a stageboard for huge success for Hepburn and he returned to theatre, with a number of appearances at Broadway, until the 1940s when he appeared in a number of films, such as Hi Diddle Diddle (1943), The Bridge of San Luis Rey (1944), and A Song for Miss Julie (1945).
He died in Los Angeles on October 9, 1955.

RICH ACTOR'S ESTATE GOES TO HOSPITALS
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The bulk of an estate of more than one million dollars was left by actor Barton Hepburn to children's departments of California hospitals.
Hepburn, 49, unmarried grandson of Alonzo Barton Hepburn, a founder of the Chase National Bank in New York City, died Tuesday.
The will, filed for probate Friday, bequeathed $100,000 to Hepburn's sister, Jane Hepburn Clark, Greenwich, Conn.; $25,000 each to her son and daughter; $10,000 to Father Flanagan's Boystown, Omaha, Neb., and $5,000 to "my faithful servant," Mariano Macapinlac.
The residue was left in trust for hospitals to be selected by Hepburn's friend and business manager, J. S. Rex Cole, who was named trustee of the estate.

HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 15 (INS) -- The will of Barton Hepburn, 49, a movie actor and heir to a New York banking fortune was filed for probate today, disclosing that he left an estate of more than one million dollars. Most of it will go to charities catering to "sick or disabled" children.
Hepburn, the bachelor grandson of Alonzo Barton Hepburn , a founder of the Chase National Bank, died in his Beverly Hills home Monday.
The will, signed Aug. 10, 1953, bequeathed $100,000 to a sister, Jane Hepburn; $25,000 each to a nephew and niece, James Foster Clark, Jr., and Alice Hepburn Clark, and $10,000 to Father Flanagan's Boys Town of Nebraska.
The residue was placed in trust with a bank. Hepburn's business adviser, J. S. Rox Cole, was named trustee.
