Lewis C. Woods passed away on the 8th day of September, 1907, at his home in the town of Saratoga where he resided for the past nine years after an illness of only 86 hours of acute indigestion, and heart failure being the immediate cause of death.

He was born in Canada in the year 1832. He came to the states while still a young man, was married to Harriet Campbell in 1866. He leaves to mourn his loss six children, three sons and three daughters, the funeral was held at the schoolhouse last Tuesday where a large crowd of friends and relatives gathered to pay their last respects. The services were conducted by Rev. A. Davidson of Vandreissen and he was laid to rest in the Elliot cemetery.

IN SARATOGA HOME

Aged Farmer of the Town Passes Away Sunday Afternoon. - Funeral on Tuesday.

Louis Woods, aged 75, died at his home in the town of Saratoga of old age last Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. He had been apparently well up to within a few days of his death, having on Friday walked several miles to visit a friend. He was as active as men several years younger than himself up to a short time ago, though age bad begun to tell on him during the past year. The old gentleman passed away peacefully, his son, Norman, being with him at the bedside when Death claimed its own.

Up to last spring, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Woods, now residents of Medford, lived with the deceased, but since then be had lived alone on his farm, the work on the place being attended to by hired help. Mr. Woods was. a widower survived by the following sons and daughter: Norman, of Saratoga, present town chairman; Sam and Frank and Mrs. Sarah Woods, of Medford.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday, Rev. Mr. Ingdahl officiating, Undertaker A. H. Kleberg of Nekoosa, being in charge of the remains. Interment was made at the Elliott cemetery, Saratoga.
