Peter (Pierre) Bernard was a young man born in a Lorraine village, now in Moselle, France; between 1871-1918 it was part of the German Empire. He was a Corporal ("Gefrieter") in the Braunschweigisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 92, 8th Kompagnie, in the Imperial German Army in W.W. I.
He died on 2 July 1916 in western Ukraine (then part of the Russian Empire) and is buried at a village named Miroslawow, Volhynia Region, Ukraine (but the name is not recognized by F.A.G. location software - its modern-day spelling "Mochalky" is not recognized either, alas!) during a Russian offensive there. Please add this URL (below) to his Memorial so he is accurately remembered. The flower on this Memorial is for a different (American) Peter Bernard.
