MARIE GONIA (d. 1984)
Mrs. Marie A. Gonia, 89, formerly of 2113 31st St., Two Rivers, died Tuesday, March 27, at Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. Paul Schumacher will officiate and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mrs. Gonia was born Dec. 18, 1894 (sic), at South Milwaukee, daughter of the late Matthew and Anna Searle Monroe. She was married to Frank Gonia in 1917, at South Milwaukee. She was educated at South Milwaukee Schools and did private infant nursing until her marriage when she moved to Two Rivers. She and her husband owned and operated the family tavern business. Her husband preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1955. Mrs. Gonia retired in 1967.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roland Gonia of Two Rivers and Patrick and Betty Gonia of Two Rivers; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Phyllis Bloch of Two Rivers and Mary Ann and Kenneth LaBudda of Ontario, Calif.; a brother, Arthur Monroe of Marathon, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grand-children and two great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, after 4:30 o'clock this Wednesday afternoon, where a memorial service will be at 6:30 o'clock this evening.
