NICHOLASVILLE - Raymond Allen Stipe, 79, husband of Ida Katherine Becknell Stipe, of Short Shun Road, died Sep 24, 2007 at his home after a long illness. He was born June 1, 1928, son of the late Raymond and Nellie B. Goss Stipe.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a former employee of Canada Dry and former Animal Control Officer.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Elizabeth Ann Stipe Watts and Lester Watts, two nieces, Darlene Beth Tyler and Linda Cloud and a nephew, Jimmy Stipes.
He was preceded in death by a brother, J.T. Stipes.
Services will be 2pm Thu at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Becknell officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be Duffy Robinson, Anthony Ervin, Mike Hammond, Jimmy Stipes, Alan Vanderpool and Robert Miller. Honorary Bearers will be Frances Lane, Lin McCuddy, Len Edward Goss, Bert Jones and Earl Peel.
Visitation will be Wed from 3-9pm at the funeral home.
