Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. The family suggests contributions to Shriner's Hospital for Children. He was born June 13, 1923, in Pittsburg, Kan., the son of Charles and Daisy M. (Miller) Ackley. Mr. Ackley grew up in Wichita, Kan., moving to Kansas City in 1948. He moved to Harrisonville in 1982. He worked for General Motors 30 years, retiring in 1982 as a metal finisher. He was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of Westport Masonic Lodge, Kansas City, Westport York Rite Bodies, Ararat Shrine, Kansas City, VFW Post 4409, Harrisonville and the Cass County Shrine Club. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, a brother and a son, Charles "Buzz" Ackley.
