Mary Dell Frazier Tunnell, age 88, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday (4/21/2011) at Church Hill Health Care.
She was a born again Christian from the age of 11 and an active member of Longs Bend Baptist Church until declining health. She was born August 20, 1922 in Scott County, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlow C. Tunnell, Sr., grandson, Mark Randall Newman, parents, Bower and Lawrence Frazier, brother, Henry C. Frazier, sisters, Shirley Oaks, Willie Ruth Quillen, Maggie Tipton, Ima Jean Frazier, and Geneva Deaver.
She is survived by, three daughters and sons-in-law, Charles and Kay Caldwell, Kermit and Edith Bentley, Mark and Velma Newman, of Surgoinsville, son and daughter-in-law, Harlow C. Jr. and Carolyn Tunnell of Rogersville, four grandchildren, David Caldwell, Robin Lee, Neil Tunnell, and Kristy Woodby, step grandson, Greg Price, seven great grandsons and one great granddaughter, two sisters, Allie Fair and Earnest Blair of Gate City and Nancy Jane Ketron of Gray, a special brother-in-law, Cleveland Tipton of Gate City, a number of nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the staff of Church Hill Health Care.
The family will receive friends from 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday (4/23/2011) at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. J.B. Hughes officiating.
Burial will follow at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
