Bluff City - Sue Ollie Boy Vance, age 82, of 1203 Riverside Road, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Bluff City and a daughter of the late Jim and Maggie Bullock Boy. Mrs. Vance was the widow of Edward 'Red' Vance, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Vance Peterson. She was a retired employee of the Sullivan County school system and was a member of Rockhold United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. Survivors include one daughter, Rachel Vance Cumbow and husband Richard; one son, Fred A. Vance and wife Diane; and a son-in-law, Gordon L. Peterson, all of Bluff City; one sister, Blanche Roberts of Apollo Beach, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the graveside in Weaver Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Wells and Rev. Randy Hensley officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Akard Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of her son, Fred A.
