James Ernest Arrington "Jimmy" died peacefully at home Thursday June 26, 2014 after an extended illness.
Jimmy was born January 24, 1947 in Rocky Mount, NC. He graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High in 1965. He was an exceptional athlete, excelling in any sport he played in. Jimmy played on the baseball team for Senior High the year they won the State Championship in all 3 major sports. He received a football scholarship to Wake Forest University. He graduated from Elon University and later received his Masters of Education from ECU. He taught school in the Rocky Mount School system for many years and later became a Principal. Jimmy loved to play golf and was very good at it.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Frances Arrington, and his stepson Lee Hagan.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Arrington and granddaughter Amy Hagan.
Memorial service will be held, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Nash @ 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount NC 27804
