Born about 1848. Enlisted at age 17 on March 15, 1865 at Russell, NY, to serve 1 year in Battery D, 1st Regiment, NY Light Artillery. His unit participated in the Siege of Petersburg and the Appomattox Campaign in VA. He was mustered out of service on July 6, 1865 at Washington, DC. Military pension records indicate he died in Sandwich, IL on April 29, 1923.
