Robert Parker "Bob" Cantrell, 74, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2006.

Born May 24, 1931, in the family home in the Valley Falls community, he was the son of the late Forrest Henry Cantrell and Annie Mae (White) Cantrell.

Mr. Cantrell graduated from Boiling Springs High School and attended Wofford College before joining the U.S. Air Force. He served as an aircraft mechanic and was stationed in Las Vegas, NV.

He returned home to run the family business, Cantrell's Radio and TV, and marry his wife of 43 years, Nell (Sims) Cantrell. Together they also operated another business, Cantrell's Gifts and Crafts, for many years.

He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and the American Legion of Inman.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Christan Lathan and her husband Joey of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Carolyn C. Hall of Spartanburg, and Betty C. Johnson of Richmond, VA; and seven nieces and nephews, Candy Hendricks of Spartanburg, Julie Tybout of Wilmington, DE, Bob Johnson and John Johnson, both of Richmond, VA, Wayne Hyder of Campobello, Jane Clary of Inman, and Lynda Olle of Kennisaw, GA.

Visitation was 1:00-1:45 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum. Cryptside services followed at the Mausoleum, conducted by the Rev. Eddie Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the Boiling Springs Fire Department Needy Family Fund, 905 Wesley Court, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
