Anchorage resident, Sheridan Leigh Rehbock, 49, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at her home in Anchorage after a long battle with breast cancer.

At Sheridan's request, no services will be held and her family will scatter her ashes along the pacific coast at some of her favorite spots.

Sheridan was born October 30, 1964 to George and Patricia (Ash) Reilly in San Francisco area of California. She later moved to Alaska as a teenager with her family. She was a self-employed artist who also loved to travel, enjoyed writing, poetry, as well as gardening and baking.

Her husband Robert was quoted saying, "Sheridan said the earth was an educational institution for the soul." Her soul learned much and taught more. Sheridan became an artist to help her healing from childhood hardship and adult arthritis. She spoke deep truth with her paintings and she did heal. Then cancer came, but it only took her after fourteen more good years. Through it all, she remained the most loving and compassionate wife and friend her husband could ever know. I, her son Dean, nephew David, family, friends, and Boo Sunshine, our bird will all miss her so much and will never forget. She brought cheer and brightness and always found a way to make us laugh."

Her son Dean added, "She always showed every person appreciation and kindness no matter who they were. She had a way of highlighting everyone's importance and inspiring everyone to treat others with compassion. She always lived in the moment and made the most out of a situation. She had many great and happy years and we have all learned so much from the way that she lived life. We all love you mom."

Sheridan was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ash; sister, Michelle Reilly; and brother, Patrick Reilly. She is survived by her husband, Robert Rehbock; son, Dean Severance; brother, Mike Reilly; nephew, David Bennett; stepfather, George Ash; her bird, Boo Sunshine and also many other nephews and nieces.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3851 Piper Street Ste.U240, Anchorage, Alaska 99508.
