Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Darby Robinson 1621 Hollywood Dr., who died at 12:22 yesterday morning at Columbia hospital will be held at 4:00 O'clock this afternoon at Dunbar's with her Pastor the Rev. James W. Jackson, DD in charge. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Robinson who was 89 recently fell and broke her hip.
Since 1918, Mrs. Robinson, who was born in Chester Co. had been a resident of Columbia where she was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was the daughter of Darius and Sarah Simpson Darby and the widow of David Montgomery Robinson.
A gentlewoman of sweet and strong qualities, Mrs. Robinson, throughout her long and useful life, endeared herself to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Surviving are four daughters: Misses Cammie Robinson and Isabel Robinson of Columbia. The other two, Mrs. Marion Clement and Mrs. Eloise Hargis live in Atlanta. She also leaves a daughter-in-law. Mrs. Marion G. Robinson of St. Simons Island, George, the widow of Lindsay D. Robinson, Columbia Railway and passenger official and banker who died some years ago, a granddaughter Mrs. Robert W. Wynne; two grandsons, Cecil Clement and Carl Clement of Atlanta and ten great grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be Larkin Speer, D. W. Osbourne, H. T. Blackmon, W. L. Ruff, C. Edwin Bloom, James T. Penny, J. Frank Tuttle and Ross W. Durham.
