Henry is the son of Heinrich Kolter and Rachel Ploch Kolter and the husband of Catherine Clarinda Hill Kolter, all of whom are buried in Kirk Cemetery, Robinson, Crawford Co., IL.

Henry Coulter was born in Bavaria, Germany on 21 Dec 1831 and died 29 Aug 1913 in Crawford Co, IL.

He was the son Henry and Rachel Coulter with 5 brothers and 3 sisters, all of whom preceded him in death. At the age of 6 he came to the US with his parents to Licking Co, OH and then to Crawford Co, IL in 1849.

He married Catherine Hill on 16 Oct 1859; 10 children were born: Henrietta who died in Jun 1867 age 6 yrs, 5 mo; William W.; John H.; Hattie M. Kidwell; Della C. Vaughn; Chas. B.; Nona R. Freeland; Cora Keller, all of Crawford Co, IL and Edgar O. of Greenup, IL. His wife survives.

He served as Licking Township commissioner of highways and was elected to the county board several times and served as the chair of the board. Interment in Wilkin cemetery.
