W.W. Anderson, familiarly known as "Uncle Billy" has resided on his farm south of this city, passed away Sunday night in the Elk City hospital where he had undergone an operation. Mr. Anderson leaves a long line of lineage over 100 in number.

He was born in Montgomery County, Arkansas. His parents moved to Williamson County, Texas when he was four and later to Shackelford Country where he married Miss Susan Virginia Frans.

He was converted and united with the Baptist Church in January of 1866. He has been a faithful church member since that date. Brother Anderson was a charter member of the Cheyenne Baptist Church and help build both the Methodist and Baptist Church buildings of that city, helping haul lumber from Quanah, Texas. He has been a resident of Oklahoma since 1894, living most of the time at his present home near Cheyenne.

Brother Anderson was a Texas Ranger during the Civil War. He has been an influential citizen of whatever community he has lived his long life of nearly 80 years.

William Walter Anderson died Sunday, January 17th, and was intered(sic) in the Doxey-Sayre(sic) cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, following impressive funeral services held at the aptist(sic) church by Rev. Z. E. Twitty of Cheyenne.

Mr. Anderson was eighty-two years of age and a pioneer of this section. He was a man that was loved and respected by those friends who knew him best. He is the father of Mrs. D. W. Tracy of this city.

Wm. W. Andersan,(sic) father of Mrs. D. W. Tracy, of this city, died at an Elk City hospital on Sunday last. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church of this city on Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Z. E. Twitty of Cheyenne, officiating. Interment was in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery. -- Sayre Headlight.
