Charles was born in Monticello on July 2, 1948, to Donald Brown and Geneva Riddle Brown. He married Nancy J. Short in 1975, in Clinton. She passed away Nov. 13, 2009.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Marjorie Gregory, Clinton; brother-in-law, Billy Dean (Kayla) Short, Wapella; sister-in-law, Cheri (Mark) Miller, Wapella; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charlie farmed in the Weldon area in his early years. He was an auctioneer and worked at Wallace Press. He and Nancy also had a DJ service, Rainbow Enterprises.
Charlie enjoyed competing in tractor pulls and was a fan of NASCAR.
Graveside services will be Thursday at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon. J. Kent Hickerson will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.
Memorials may be made to Charles M. Brown Memorial Fund.
