Emory Lee Morris, 54, Odessa, died Sept. 30, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs. Mr. Morris was born Oct. 26, 1943 in Stockton, CA, and moved to the Sedalia, MO, area when he was 5 years old.( He was actually 8 years old when we moved from Stockton to Versailles for one year and then to Sedalia the year he was about 9-10 years old.)
He graduated from Sedalia Smith-Cotton High School in 1961.
He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961 to 1966 which included Okanawa, Japan. ( He was also a Marine Corp guard in Washington DC for part of his service.)
He was the owner of Morris Construction Co. of Odessa and formerly of Sedalia. His business was building residential houses and commercial projects.
His survivors include his wife, Sue Caldwell Morris of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Junior Weaver, and Amy and Stacy Woods; and two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Weaver, all of Odessa; a brother, Richard Paul Morris, Chattanooga, TN; and a sister, Bonnie Morris Conrad, Houston, TX.
Services will be Saturday at the Ralph O. Jones Chapel, Odessa. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Friends may call tonight at the funeral home.

A precious granddaughter Emily was born after his death. He would be so happy about that.
