Funeral services for John J. Kruswick, 74, of 1620 Orchard Dr., Manitowoc, who died Thursday at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mishicot, the Rev. Herbert Kesting officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Kruswick, an overseas veteran of World War I, was born March 24, 1895, at Manitowoc, a son of the late Julius and Katherine Bishop Kruswick. He married the former Mabel Landt at Milwaukee June 26, 1917, after which the couple farmed in Kewaunee County for 25 years.
Later, he operated the Mishicot Lockers and Meats plant until his retirement in 1960, moving to Manitowoc. He was a member of the Ralph Perry Post No. 3392, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion Post No. 29 at Kewaunee.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Harold (La June) Kronforst of Manitowoc; a sister, Miss Henrietta of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Edward of Minocqua and Frank of Algoma, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Klein and Stangel, Inc. Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of services.
