Mr. Carroll was an amateur radio operator, call sign WA8ZGL. He continued to use his operating skills in Navy MARS and ARRL Emergency Communications until he was no longer able do so.
Tom also enjoyed biking, and books with enthusiasm. He was an avid reader.
Preceded in death by his Irish parents, Josephine Hanna Healy and Dennis John Carroll, and brother Dennis John Carroll, Jr.
Tom is survived by his wife and lifelong love, Mary Agnes Carroll (nee Brodie); son, Kevin Carroll (Terri); grandchildren, Corey Carroll and Jessica Miller (Brian) of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Marjorie Kelly; many loving nephews and nieces, all of California; cousins, Eileen, Nora, and John of Cuyahoga Falls. He is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dominic and Margaret Babbo of Green, Ohio, and their children, Stephen, Scott (Elaine), Stephanie Walker (Mark), and Jan Babbo. He was a very special great-uncle to Joe, Josh, Andy, Brodie, Bryan, and Angela, and he also leaves behind very many special friends.
