Glenn Arthur Albert


Glenn Arthur Albert 79, of Clearfield, formerly of Julian and Newton Hamilton, died Tuesday at Mt. Laurel Nursing Center in Clearfield.
He was born December 30, 1926 in Wallaceton, PA as son of the late Roy J. and Beda McQuillen Albert.
On May 2, 1959 he married May P. Albert who preceded him in death.
Glenn served with the Army Corps of Engineers in Hawaii during the Korean Conflict, earning the rank of Corporal.
He was employed at the Applied Research Lab at Penn State University in the maintenance department, working much of that time as a bricklayer from 1967 until his retirement.
Mr. Albert served as an Assistant Scout Master and later as Scout Master of Troop 48 in Wallaceton from 1953 - 1955. He was a former social member of the State College V.F.W. and the Undine Fire Company in Bellefonte.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Donna Myers of Ohio and a step-son, William Hilgar and his wife, Sally of Port Matilda; one sister Elaine Peters of Clearfield, and one brother Paul Albert of West Decatur; 8 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 9:30 until 11:00 a. m. Friday, April 21, 2006 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The Funeral service will follow at the Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ludrowsky officiating. Burial will be at the Centre County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association 501 Howard Ave., Altoona, PA.
