Daniel Brian Sanford, born June 9, 1982, in Provo, Utah, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, in Pittsburgh. Daniel grew up in and loved Las Vegas. He graduated from Green Valley High School, Henderson, in 2000, and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, in 2005, majoring in philosophy. He served an LDS mission in the Oslo Norway Mission from 2001 to 2003. He touched the lives of many people and was beloved by his fellow missionaries. He was a zone leader. He was unusually proficient in the Norwegian language, speaking it like a native. Daniel was the son of Dr. Brian Glen and Linda (Woodfield) Sanford of Henderson. On June 23, 2005, Daniel married his sweetheart and the love of his life Traci Jo Summers in Salt Lake City. He was a most devoted and loving husband, and Traci was a most devoted and loving wife. He was looking forward to the birth of their first son, Jack, in May 2006. In addition to his wife, Traci; and his parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Erin Melinda and Kaitlyn Olivia of Henderson. He adored them and they adore him. He is survived by his grandparents, Glen J. and Vonda (Clayson) Sanford of Las Vegas, and Floyd J. and Clara (Williams) Woodfield of St. George, Utah. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Cliff and Janell Summers of Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Shane (Angie) Summers of Colorado, and Dustin (Briannie) Summers of Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Stephanie Summers of Arizona, and Liberty (Scott) Miller of Utah; five nephews; and three nieces. In the fall of 2005, Daniel was admitted to law school at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. He finished his first semester with high grades. Daniel was a most handsome young man. He loved life; he loved his church; he loved his family; he loved his wife; he loved sports and loved to play golf. He was an avid supporter of the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team. We will all miss you, Daniel! Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Legacy Ward Chapel, 920 E. Wigwam Ave., Henderson. The viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas. The burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for Jack and Traci Sanford with Bank of America. "Each time we embrace a memory we meet again with those we love...for the heart never forgets."
