She had been in poor health for the past two years but the death was unexpected.
Born at New Concord, Ohio, December 23, 1871, she is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wilson. She lived in Houston, the past 50 years. She is the wife of the late Vance D. Peacock, well-known Houston merchant and for a time member of the state legislation.
She was a member of the Houston United Presbyterian Church, and the Plus Ultra Class of that church.
Surviving are one son, Attorney Ralph W. Peacock, Peters Township; one daughter, Grace, wife of Standley H. Hoch, Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Maurice Coleman, Asheville, N.C.; Mrs. Raymond Taggart, Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. John Forcyce, Mesa, Arizona; and Mrs. E.C. Mitchell, Pittsburgh. Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Friends may call at the W.E. Speakman Funeral Home, today, from 7 till 9 p.m., and tomorrow from 3 till 5 p.m., and from 7 till 9 p.m.
Services will be held from the Speakman Funeral Home, Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m., in charge of Dr. W.F. Harkey, pastor of the Third Presbyterian Church, Washington. He will be assisted by Dr. E.V. Condron, pastor of the Houston United Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery. It is requested that flowers be omitted.
