Julia came to Canada with her mother and stepfather, Frank Wine, circa 1896, where they settled near Bashaw, Alberta. The1901 census at Red Deer Lake district, in Alberta, finds Frank Wyne (Wine) 33, his wife, Wenike, 30, and children, Gulia (Julia), 5, and Charles, 2. By 1906, the Wine family is showing as Frank, 38, Veronica, 35, Julia, 12, Charles, 7, Mary, 5, and Annie, 3.
Julia Edward and Theodore Neis were married at Bashaw, Alberta in 1913, and records indicate they had five daughters and four sons.

Place of death: 15-38-25W4 (east of Red Deer, near Hillsdown)

Notes:
- Ancestry trees show numerous different parents for Julia: Gustave Neis and Louise Dressel; Tamas Otvos and Veronica Markos; unknown Atvis; unknown Otfize; Thomas and Kate Edwards.
Of these parents, Tamas Otvos and Veronica Markos seem a possibility. The 1900 Woodbury, New Jersey, census finds Thomas Otvos, b. Aug 1866, his wife, Veron, b. Sep 1871, children, Julia, b. July 1894, and Charles, b. Feb. 1899, all born in Hungary.
- The Alberta Death Index shows Vitaline Wine died in Calgary in 1908--this is likely her mother.
- Julia's marriage to Theodore Nies was possibly a second marriage for her. Or it could be that she changed the spelling of her maiden name to Edward??
- Her obituary states Julia was survived by two sisters, Mrs. Harry Whatley of Calgary and Mrs. Toby Matineze of Seattle, Wash.
