Mrs. Lola Mae Woods Jackson, 99, of Waco, Texas, who was born March 11, 1904 in Ashley County, died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A resident of Waco for the past eight years and for many years a resident of Hamburg, she was a retired registered nurse and a member of the First Baptist Church in Waco.


She is survived by two daughters, Ann Bachman of Bristol, TN, And Bonnie Person of Hamburg; one son, Richard H. Jackson and wife Dora Lynn of Waco; one sister, Marie White of Fountain Hill; a brother-in-law, Norman Hester of Crossett; a sister-in-law, Brucie Woods of Cape Girardeau, MO; eleven grandchildren, 28 eight-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Jackson, in 1975; one grandson, Ed Bachman; and her parents, John L. and Willie Watkins Woods.

Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, in the First Baptist Church in Fountain Hill with the Revs. Klois Hargis, Howard Jackson and Bill Elton officiating. Burial was to follow services at the Flat Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were to be Harold and Danny Jackson, Thom and David Person, Charles White, Dennis Thurman and Dave Bachman. Honorary pallbearer was to be John Marvin Woods
