Shirley A. Henderson, 85, of Matawan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Victoria House in Matawan. She was born Shirley A. Baker on December 9, 1928 in Matawan, where she was raised and has resided for her entire life. While living in the town of Matawan, Shirley was very involved in her community. She was a part of the Matawan Borough Council and the Matawan First Aid (ladies auxiliary). She was also a member of the First Baptist Church and their church choir, in addition to teaching the church's children's choir group. Shirley was also a dental assistant and taught student's training to become dental assistants. For many years, Shirley was the proprietor of a jewelry store located in Keyport, called "Henderson Jewelers."

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Muriel (Aumack) Baker; her beloved husband, Kenneth Henderson and her brother, Robert Baker. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 27th from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday, June 28th from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Prayer service at the funeral home, Saturday, June 28th at 10:15 AM. Interment, Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, NJ.
