Bernice C. Koch, age 89, of 3118 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 24, 2006, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
She was born May 2, 1916 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Thomas and Agatha Juchniewich. Bernice was a graduate
of Washington High School, Two Rivers. On Aug. 2, 1941, she married Harold E. Koch in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death Jan. 25, 2003. The couple owned and operated Koch's Shell Station on North Eighth Street for many years. Bernice also worked at Hamilton Manufacturing and Copps Department Store. She was the first queen of the Two Rivers Snow Festival. Bernice enjoyed bowling and taking in foster children over the years. Bernice was a member of the merican Legion Auxiliary, Manitowoc Eagles Club and St. Theresa Society.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Alan and Louise Koch, Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Linda and Jerry Rosinsky, Wausaukee; Scott Koch, Manitowoc; Lisa and
Ben Stock, Manitowoc; five great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Elliott, Devin, Nevada and Morgan; and a special friend of the family: Dale Tess, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters-in-law: Stanley and Jeanette Juchniewich, Joseph and Stella Juchniewich and Felix and Gertrude Juchniewich.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand Avenue, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M., with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
