James was a passenger abroad UH-1D #66-16775 that was hit by friendly artillery causing the aircraft to crash and burn, 5 kilometers north of Bao Phung and southwest of Tay Ninh City.
Survived by his wife, Renate W Daniel and his daughter and his mother; Olga Daniel all of Apt E-1,
