Frank W. Kostka Jr., age 83, of 1939 31st St., Two Rivers, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at his residence.

Frank was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Two Rivers, to the late Frank and Anna (Pribyl) Kostka Sr. He attended St. Mark Catholic Grade School and Washington High School, Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1943. On April 19, 1947, he married Lucille Baugniet at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Frank was employed at Metalware Corp. for 42 years, retiring as a foreman in 1987. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage; he loved to read; enjoyed his yard work; and spending time with his family. Frank always had quarters for his grandkids and great-grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Holy Redeemer Parish, now St. Peter the Fisherman, and it's men's club; he also was a former member of dartball leagues, and bowling leagues in Two Rivers, where he held the "All Events" record for the city bowling tournament for a number of years. Frank was one of several young men, who years ago, found snow in the sand dunes at Neshotah Beach (In June). This discovery was known as the founding of "Snowfest" in Two Rivers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Lee Mlot; one brother: Wayne Kostka; and two brothers-in-law: Al Wacek, and Joe Valinski.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Road, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 8 p.m., led by Fr. Bill. Visitation will continue at the church Friday morning, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
