Cornelia Adams, Former KCC Clerk, Dies at Age 70

Mrs. Cornelia Y. Adams, 70, 1031 Polk, died Tuesday morning in a Topeka hospital after a long illness.

The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Yonkers, she was born Feb. 3, 1892, at Kingman and spent most of her life in Topeka. She was a clerk for the State Corporation Commission from June, 1939, until she retired July 1, 1962.

Survivors include two sons, Harry W. Adams of Baltimore, Md., and John Charles Adams of Costa Mesa, Calif., five grandchildren; one great-grandson; four sisters, Mrs. A.E. Green and Mrs. Edwin Bobleter, both of Chicago; Mrs. Anna Y. Reed of San Francisco and Mrs. Nellie M. Whitted of the home; and a brother, Harry A. Yonkers of Houston, Tex.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
