He married Mildred Williams on July 29, 1948, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Lewiston. In the late 1940s, he was employed at Ralph Harvey's Texaco Service Station at Ninth and Main streets in Lewiston.
Fritz and Mildred moved to San Francisco in 1950. He was employed at Roper's Texaco until 1952, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving two years at Fort Ord, Calif. While in the Army, he attended light vehicle school and graduated as an honor student. Fritz remained at the school as an instructor, later to be promoted as sergeant and manager of the Army Supply Depot.
In 1954 Fritz and Mildred moved back to Clarkston where Fritz was employed at Potlatch Corp. (now Clearwater Paper) for 33 years, retiring in 1988 as supervisor of No. 2 paper machine.
Fritz enjoyed many years at the family cabin at Chapman Lake. He spent much of his retirement there, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening and most of all just being with his family. He tried to attend any event his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were in, always there to cheer them on, giving them a high-five or hug after.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; daughter Cyndi; his parents Otto and Mary; brothers Joseph and Bill; and sisters Mary, Betty, Mardy and Ann.
