Former Anchorage resident Phyllis Bennett was called home by our Lord on November 6, 2004.

Mrs. Bennett was born February 3, 1925 in Jackson, Michigan, where she was raised and started her own family with her first husband Mr. Don Gary. They married in 1942 and she gave birth to daughter Jean in 1944. After Don's passing in 1947, She married Mr. Jerry Ide in 1948. Together they had five children: Terry; Mike; Greg; Pam; and Doug.
In 1959 they moved to Alaska; in 1960 they were divorced.

Phyllis married Mr. Don Bennett in 1961. They had two sons: Dennis and Don J.

They raised all the kids in Anchorage. After retirement, they traveled all over the lower 48 until they found home again in Yuma, Arizona. Phyllis and Don loved living close to so many good friends. Phyllis' best friend since 1992 was Rita, who passed away just hours after Phyllis (they always did everything together). A celebration of life was held by their family and friends at Lazy S Park on November 13th.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Don of Yuma; daughter Jean and husband Art Ames of Eagle River; daughter Terry Mundt of Anchorage; sons Mike and Greg Ide of Cooper Landing; daughter Pam and husband Larry Brink of Anchorage; son Dennis and wife Penny Bennett of Palmer; son Don J and wife Rebecca Bennett of Anchorage; and daughters-in-law Debbie Ide of Midville Georgia, and Laura Ide of Anchorage; brother Robert and wife Helen Curtis of West Branch, Michigan; 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and many who considered her Mom or Grandma.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her son Doug Ide; Parents Muriel and Tillie Curtis; Stepmother Rosie Curtis; and siblings Harold "Cy", Muriel Jr., Mildred, Donald, Doris, and June.

On December 12, 2004, a celebration of life will be hosted by Phyllis' children at the American Legion Post 28 at 7001 Brayton Drive, Anchorage, Alaska at 2:00 PM.

Her family will always remember the love she gave and all the fun they had together.
