He was a safety engineer for Transit Casualty Company and loved to fish and read. He served in the US Army during World War II and Korea. Mr. Applegate was a life member of the VFW Post 3006 and a member of the Samuel Hart American Legion Post 14, Salisbury, NC. He was also a member of Arcadia Lodge #1138, F. & A.M., Lansing, IL.
Survivors: loving husband of Bette A. Hayward Applegate, wife of 61 years, Father to Garry James and Bruce Robert, grandfather of Anthony Spotti (Alejandra), Several granchildren of Bruce Robert, Tracy Applegate Glosheski, and Tonya Applegate Remus and brother of Charles Applegate.
