Jennifer Veronica Bayode, age 35, of Tuscaloosa, died April 27, 2011, at home.

Jennifer Veronica Bayode was born August 21, 1975, to Ada Mae Hughes and Tony Nevins at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Jennifer grew up in Tuscaloosa and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1995.

After high school she began her first job at Ezell's Catfish Cabin where she worked for many years. Jennifer was an extremely hard worker. In 1996, after her first son, Dontydrick was born she started a second job at Glenn Haven Health & Rehabilitation as a chef and then a CNA. She was an employee there for almost 15 years up until the days of her death.

In 2000, Jennifer met her soul mate, David Bayode, and they later married on April 13, 2001. Two years later, the second son, Devaris was born. Jennifer decided to go back to school in 2007 to further her education and better her career.

Prior to her death, she was attending Shelton State Community College to finish up her degree in nursing. Jennifer was an easygoing, happy person, but at the same time she was a businesswoman that handled her business better than most. She always found a reason to smile and could always get along with anyone. As a dedicated wife and mother, Jennifer gave her all to both her husband and two sons. A loving and caring person was Jennifer Bayode.

Jennifer leaves behind a husband, David Bayode of West Africa, Nigeria: two sons, Dontydrick Q. Hughes and Devaris O. Bayode; her father, Tony Nevins; her mother, Ada Mae Hughes and stepfather Willie Gene Hughes; seven brothers, Tony (Hilda) Nevins of Detroit, Mich., Sylvester Nevins of Detroit, Mich., Willie Charles Hughes of Tuscaloosa, Gregory Anthony Hughes of Tuscaloosa, Timothy Lamont (Phyllis) Hughes of Duncanville, McAuthor Hughes of Tuscaloosa, and Terry Dewayne Hughes; seven sisters, Laura Reed of Tuscaloosa, Gladys (Earl) Prude of Duncanville, Shirley (Willie) Cunningham of Duncanville, Ruth (Tommy) Mason of Duncanville, Patricia Coleman of Duncanville, Wanda Renee (Roosevelt) Green of Tuscaloosa, and Sheen Lashay Hughes (Jonathan McCulloch) of Tuscaloosa; and many, many special nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Maggie Lean Evans; grandfather, Elbert Wallace; grandmother, Laura Nevins; and grandfather, George Nevins.
