Retired Laundry Operator Is Dead
Ogle Clair Gates, aged 73, 202 South Minnesota, died early Monday morning in his home.
Mr. Cates was born in Union, Ore., coming to Wichita from that city in 1878.
He was a retired laundry operator and had been in the laundry business for 32 years. He established his own business in 1935.
He was a member of the Calvary Methodist church and of Albert Pike Masonic lodge. He and Mrs. Cates celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1947.
Survivors include his widow, Jessie, of the home address; two daughters, Mrs. R. C. Sugden, 1557 Matlock and Mrs. Harland Wiley, 1830 Fairview; two sons, Spencer, 1823 Weaver and Rex, 507 South Vine; a brother, Leonard, of Arkansas City, Kan., and three grandchildren.
Culbertson mortuary will announce funeral service arrangements.
