Fairview, Idaho - Earl Virgil Jensen, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. He was born on Nov. 29, 1928, in Weston, Idaho to John Vergil and Elly Jacobson Jensen. He lived most of his life in Fairview, Idaho. He met his sweetheart, Mary Lou Jensen at the Persiana Dance Hall and they were married Nov. 29, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on Nov. 29, 1948.

Earl owned and operated Jensen TV & Appliance in Preston, Idaho. Earl was known all over the area as the "TV Man." He was an avid Scouter and took many Scouts and youth on trips to Mount Ash in Yellowstone National Park. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a pilot of his own plane. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife served a mission from 1988-1990 in the Phillipines, Baguio mission. Earl served in many callings including counselor in the bishopric, as well as a worker in the Logan Temple. He worked hard and he played hard and he loved well. He taught by example and when asked how he was, he always responded "Doin' Great!" He said it with meaning which was the same way he lived his life.

Earl and Mary Lou loved to travel and have visited many states and foreign countries. One of their favorite destinations is Hawaii where they traveled to numerous times. His joy was his family and they took many family vacations. A highlight was their family reunion, MEP, held every summer and named after them.

Earl is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Jensen; his children, Carolyn (Charles) Moulton, of Newdale, Idaho; Phyllis (Adel) Ali, of Cairo, Egypt; Beverly (Lon) Ricks, of Newdale, Idaho; Patricia (Ted) Hawes, of Eagar, Ariz.; Erlene (Kevin) Torgrimson, of Newdale, Idaho; LuJean Jensen, of Preston, Idaho; Jared Earl (Karen) Jensen, of Cub River, Idaho; 36 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren.
