In high school Ricky was a student leader and because of his outgoing, gregarious personality, he was loved by his fellow classmates and teachers alike. Ricky retired from the United States Air Force after serving over twenty years, retiring with the rank of staff sargeant. He worked security at the Arkansas State Capitol building in Little Rock.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Marge Brookins of Little Rock; daughter, Tamara Johnston (Shelby) of Shreveport, LA; son, Kristopher Brookins of Little Rock; grandchildren, Niko Brookins of Little Rock, Robert Ferguson, Breahna and Brittany Ferguson all of Shreveport.
