Dorothy Stuckey Todd, age 79 of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at her home. She was born in Wilmington on May 10, 1935. Dorothy was a life-long resident of Wilmington and was a member of Pine Valley Church of God where she dedicated herself as a Sunday School teacher in addition to directing special programs for the church. She was always willing to share God's word with everyone she met. Dorothy formerly worked at WECT Channel 6, and was former owner operator of Todd's Florist. She was a life-long writer and published poet and shared her work with family and friends. She was well known for her generosity which included her famous recipes and cooking talent. She is survived by her children, Albert C. Ganey, Jr. (Janice), Jere Ganey (Sandra), and Julie Canfield Brong; grandchildren Josh Canfield, April Teagarden, Candice Curtin, Misty Gallagher, Trent Ganey, Al Ganey, III, and Ashlyn Brong; numerous great grandchildren; and two brothers. A memorial Celebration of Life service will be 3 PM Friday at Pine Valley Church of God officiated by Dr. Vickie Ridgeway and Rev. Larry Horrell. The family will gather to meet friends an hour prior to the service. There will be private burial service at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
