November 7, 1987 at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein following a long illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic church, Reedsville.
Father John Becker will officiate with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Benzschawel was born July 23, 1905 in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the
late Paul and Mary Chizek Cherney. She married George P. Benzschawel on June 19,
1923 at Reedsville. Mrs. Benzschawel was a partner in Ye Old Inn and Lanes of
Reedsville for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville
and a charter member of St. Ann Society.
Survivors include a daughter and a son-in-law, Marion and Charles Winfrey of Reedsville;
two brothers, John Cherney of Kellnersville and Louis Cherney of Manitowoc; a sister,
Mrs. Clara Krejcarek of Francis Creek; a grandson and daughter-in-law, Thomas (Scott)
and Jean Mulhaney of Two Rivers and two great grandsons, Brian and Shawn. She was
preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Wieting-Schneider Funeral Home, Reedsville, after 5 pm this Monday
and Tuesday until 10 am when family rites will be held. Parish vigil will be held at
7 pm this evening at the funeral home.
