LOSES FINGERS IN SAW MISHAP
Joseph Brennan Jr., 19, Cato, May Lose Thumb Also
Joseph Brennan Jr., 19, Cato, spent all winter as a lumberjack in the northern Michigan woods without mishap. The second day after he was back home he lost two fingers and possible a thumb when he caught his right hand in a circular saw.
Brennan was cutting timber on the farm of his father, Joseph Brennan Sr. He sought to adjust a set screw on the saw with a wrench. It slipped and he caught his hand in the revolving saw. Brought to the hospital here Brennan was operated on and lost two fingers. His thumb was crushed but may be saved.
Brennan, who is a well known athlete, may be lost to the Cato ball club this summer.
