He graduated Yale in 1801. He also tutored during the years of 1804 - 1808.
Later, he was involved in mercantile pursuits in New York City, NY.
He was very interested in horticulture & also in researching the habits of insects injurious to vegetation.
He wrote many papers on the subject, that proved to be valuable and were published.
He was Mayor of New Haven at some point in time, unknown to me at this time. He also served as County Surveyor & was at the time of his death a Judge of the County Court.
There are at least 2 books he authored:
"An Address Upon Injurious Insects" (1845) reprinted in 2010.
"Notice of a hurricane that passed over New England in September, 1815". (1842)
