Major League Baseball Player. The right-handed-hitting catcher broke into the major leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1947, his only year with them. He played for the Cincinnati Reds from 1949-52 and was with the Brooklyn Dodgers for parts of the 1953, 1955 and '56 seasons. For his career he batted .248 with 12 homers and 93 runs batted in.
