Edward W. Vesely, 80, of 537 Menasha Street, Reedsville, died early Friday
morning, April 12, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic
Church, Reedsville, preceded by brief family rites at 10:15 a.m. from the
Reedsville Funeral Home. The Rev. John J. Becker will officiate with burial
to follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Vesely was born January 14, 1905, in the Town of Rockland, son of the late
Frank and Mary Vondrachek Vesely. Mr. Vesely farmed until 1956 and then was
employed by the Reedsville Public School and St. Mary Parish as a custodian.
Mr. Vesely was also employed part-time for the village of Reedsville for 15
years. He married the former Lillian Wenzel on June 22, 1934, at St. Mary
Catholic Church, Reedsville. Mr. Vesely was a retired fireman and former
secretary for the Reedsville Fire Department, Honorary life time member of the
Reed Way Sportsman club, former Reedsville school board member and a member of
Knights of Columbus Number 5798 of Reedsville and a member of the Holy Name
Society.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian; a daughter, Marilyn Shimek of Reedsville;
two grandchildren, Matt and Mary Jean, both of Reedsville; three sisters, Mrs.
Annie Klein, Emma Stadler and Clara Wallander, all of Manitowoc and three
sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents,
five brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday
afternoon. A parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. by Knights of Columbus
Council Number 5798 and St. Mary Holy Name Society prayer service.

Funeral services for Edward W. Versely, which were held Monday, from the
Reedsville Funeral Home, it was inadvertenly omitted that Mr. Vesely was
former president of the Reedsville Senior Citizens and was currently serving
as vice president.
Honorary pallbearers which are retired Reedsville Fire Fighters are Reuben
Rusch, Edward Svatek, Harold Geiger, Charles Walt, Earl Bergmann, John Wagner
and Cliff O'Connell.
