OBIT: CLARKSVILLE TIMES 14 Feb 1947, married, died in Bogata at home with burial in Bridges Chapel Cemetery, BOGATA NEWS, Friday 1 Mar 1946, from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Banks of Kaufman, were called here to attend her father, H. M. Wicker, ill with pneumonia since Thursday. He is improved at last report., OBIT: BOGATA NEWS, Friday 14 Feb 1947, from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: H. M. Wicker, 80, passed away at the home of a son, W. M. Wicker, at Linden, Friday. Funeral services were conducted at Bridges Chapel Sunday afternoon by Rev. C. H. Hoover, Baptist pastor of Bogata, and Rev. J. D. McClung of Mt. Pleasant. Deceased had lived at Bogata the past ten years, and had been in failing health several years, the last few months practically bed-fast. Uniting with the Baptist church when a young man, he had remained a consistent and loyal member for 60 years. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. D. C. Denny of Bogata and Mrs. Luther Banks of Talco; two sons, Woodrow Wicker, Bogata and W. M. Wicker, Linden; two brothers and one sister, all of Avinger; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Cleamon Denny, Jim Grissom, Walter and Junior Wicker and Durwood Banks. Attending the funeral from Bogata were Mrs. Raymond Damron, Mrs. Finis Miller, Mrs. Melvin Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Russ Ward, W. J. Corbell, Garland Anderson and Rev. and Mrs. C. H. Wicker, whose home was at Bogata, but he died at Linden and was buried in a rural cemetery near Talco.
