Noah Baker Jr., age 82, of Richmond, was reunited with his eternal companion on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Reid Hospital. Born July 11, 1931, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to Noah Testaman and Cynthia Jones Baker, he lived most of his life in this area.

Noah worked as a machinist at Eaton Gear for 31 years prior to retirement. He served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. Noah was very social and never knew a stranger. He loved visiting with family and friends and enjoyed bowling. Noah never liked to be confined inside and enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden and yard.

Survivors include his two daughters, Cynthia A. (Bob) Redmon of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Stacey D. (Dennis) Turner of Cincinnati, Ohio; five sons, Noah D. (Linda) Baker Sr. of South Carolina, Darrell D. (Debra) Baker Sr. of Alabama, Michael D. (Carol) Baker Sr. of Albany, Indiana, Jeffrey D. (Tammie) Baker Sr. of Williamsburg, Indiana, and Roderick J. (Michelle) Baker Sr. of North Dakota; 37 grandchildren, Noah Dwight Jr., Christy, Stephen, Tomi Marie, Teren, Darrell II, Danielle, Denise, Michael Jr., Stephanie, Joshua, Ryan, Natalie, Keirstyn, Joseph, Megan, Melissa, Jeffrey Jr., Melanie, Adam, Shannon, Emily, Heather, Tiffany, Eric, Daniel, Jonathon, Corinne, Roderick II (Jay), Kassandra, Carley, Amanda, April, Ariel, Dennis (JT), Abigail, and Aleah; 65 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Roark, Netha Smith, Melva Shepherd, and Martha Brock all of Hamilton, Ohio; brother, Gene Baker of Hamilton, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Hilda Baker of Williamsburg, Indiana; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable D. Baker, to whom he was married on March 11, 1950; son, Eric Baker; grandson, Aaron N. Baker; parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation for Noah Baker Jr. will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3333 Backmeyer Road, Richmond, with Bishop Jeff Baker officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, Indiana.
