John Peronto, 73, Two Rivers painter, died Friday afternoon at the municipal hospital there, following a nine-month illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Klein and Stangel, Inc., funeral home and at 9 o'clock at the St. Lukes church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mr. Peronto, who would have observed his 74th birthday July 6, was born in Annappe, now Algoma, in 1866. He spent his youth there and then held jobs in various places in the state. He came to Two Rivers about 30 years ago. He followed the painting trade until his retirement two years ago. On Dec. 3, 1889 he married Miss Emily Marquardt and last December the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Survivors are the widow; four daughter, Mrs. Rudolph Kaminsky, Mrs. Adele Otis and Mrs. Joseph Sousek of Two Rivers, and Mrs. Eli Payette of Rhinelander; five sons, Ferdinance, Melvin, Richard, Chester and Norman, all of Two Rivers; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
