RICHARD PHALEN

Richard Joseph Phalen, 73, of 2016 School street, Two Rivers, died at his home at 4:30 this morning. He had been ailing for the past five years.

Funeral services will be held from the Klein and Stangel Inc. Funeral home in Two Rivers at 8:30 Monday morning and at 9 o’clock from St. Luke’s Catholic church. The Very Rev. Dean C. V. Hugo will officiate and burial will be in Holy
Cross cemetery.

Richard Phalen was born in Cascade April 27, 1869. He married Clara Frappier at Iron Mountain, Mich., on June 7, 1895 and the family moved to Two Rivers 16 years ago where Mr. Phalen entered the employ of the F. Eggers Seating Co. He worked there for ten years and retired five years ago because of ill health.

Besides the widow, three daughters, nine sons, 30 grandchildren and a brother survive. The daughters are Mrs. Fred McKeough, route 5 Manitowoc, Mrs. Leo Rocheleau of Two Rivers and Mrs. Louis Samms of Baraboo. Surviving sons are Rodney, Charles, Orville and Roland of Two Rivers, Richard of Buffalo, N.Y., David of Nahms, Mich., Loyd of Iron Mountain, Mich., Patrick of Crandon and Pvt. Miles Phalen, stationed at Spence Field, Ga. The brother is Charles Phalen of Milwaukee.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home tonight and until the time of services on Monday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 745 Sunday evening. Mr. Phalen was a member of the St. Luke’s Holy name society.
