WINTER HAVEN - Rufus "Butch" Lamar Brown, 69, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014.

Butch was born on February 18, 1945 in Winter Haven to James and Frances Brown. He served in the United States Navy as a hospital Corpsman. Upon completion of his service he attended school to become a nuclear medicine technician. He worked in nuclear medicine his entire career until he retired. After retirement he kept himself busy working with his friends doing house remodeling. He also loved fishing, which he used as an outreach to show the love of Jesus to the local youth. He loved Jesus and spent many hours in prayer and reading the Bible.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents James Rufus Brown and Frances Brown. He is survived by his children Gary Brown, Serena Weh and husband Pete Weh, and Celia Dittmaier; his grandchildren Brendon Brown, Eric Weh, Abigail Weh, Morgan Brown, Austin Brown, Christoper Dittmaier, and Tony Dittmaier; his sisters Sandra Water and husband Roy Waters, Karen Onheiser, and Wanda Kirpach; and his nieces and nephews Lisa, Randy, James, Joel, Christine, Wendy, Kelvin, Danielle, Kendall, and Kristen.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, 10:00am at Kings Church, 1500 Lynchburg Road, Lake Alfred, Florida.
