OBITUARY:
Funeral services for Aaron Work Jeffries, aged 64 years, eight months and twelve days, who dropped dead while on the way to his home in Grant township from Rochester Mills, Tuesday morning (Dec. 21, 1926) between 11 and 12 o'clock, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Jeffries, who had previously sustained a slight apoplectic stroke from
which he apparently had recovered, left his home early on Tuesday to do some marketing at Rochester Mills. When he did not return home an investigation was made and the dead body was found. In accordance with the condition of the body and his clothes, death came quickly and quietly.
The deceased was a son of Noah and Miriam (Work) Jeffries and was born and raised on the farm on which he died. He was always engaged in the farming business and was regarded as one of the substantial citizens of the community. He was frequently honored by election to public office and was a supervisor for a number of years. At the time of his death he was Republican committeeman from Grant township. Mr. Jeffries' church affiliations were with the United Presbyterian faith. He had also been a long-time member of the Grange.
Mr. Jeffries leaves his widow, Mrs. Sarah (Hopkins) Jeffries.
